The news is notable not just for the raw numbers, but for the growth at Valley Forge specifically; that $88 million represented a $50 million leap from August.

September is a prime month for gambling, with MLB pennant races winding down, and the NFL kicking off. It marked the first opportunity for local gamblers to legally bet on NFL games.

SugarHouse came in second in Pennsylvania behind FanDuel/Valley Forge, with a total handle of $37 million for September. There was a total of $194,504,622 in handle made on sports bets across Pennsylvania's several casinos that month.
