Bakerstown Alliance Church Installs New Pastor
Bakerstown Alliance Church welcomes Pastor Jack Scheid and his wife, Becky. Pastor Scheid was installed as the new lead pastor on Oct. 8.

On Thursday, October 8, 2020, Bakerstown Alliance Church officially welcomed Pastor Jack Scheid during a special installation ceremony. Members of the Bakerstown Alliance Church congregation and representatives from area Alliance churches shared in the celebration.
The Rev Jeff Lawther of Lifepointe Alliance Church Franklin Campus provided the installation sermon. Rev. Lawther provided advice for Pastor Scheid in carrying out his new duties as lead pastor at Bakerstown Alliance. He also offered words of wisdom to the Bakerstown Alliance congregation on how to care for their new pastor.
Bakerstown Alliance Church is a member of the Western Pennsylvania District of the Christian and Missionary Alliance. Southwest Regional Team Leader Rev. David Lauffer represented the District at Pastor Scheid’s installation. Rev. Lauffer and the other Alliance pastors conducted a laying-of-the-hands prayer to bless Pastor Scheid as he begins his new role at Bakerstown Alliance.

Pastor Scheid is not to the church. Before his current role as lead pastor, he served as Bakerstown Alliance’s praise and worship director.
He is a graduate of Pennsylvania Bible Institute, an accredited Christian and Missionary Alliance Ministry School. He graduated in 2016 and received his ministry license through the Western Pennsylvania District of the Christian and Missionary Alliance. Pastor Scheid is married to his wife, Becky. The couple has three adult children and five grandchildren.

Pastor Scheid has a passion for preaching God’s word and proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ. He is a talented vocalist and musician who plays guitar and piano.
“Bakerstown Alliance has shown us such love and acceptance,” Scheid said following his installation. “We have been blessed by the spirit of willingness to just pitch in and do whatever it takes to make the church a better place and to move forward and to glorify the Lord. We are just excited about what God has for us in the future. We know that God is not done with Bakerstown Alliance Church and we are excited to be a part of that with all of you.”
Jon Grubbs, an elder at Bakerstown Alliance, said the congregation has felt a connection with Pastor Scheid since the moment he first arrived at Bakerstown as its praise and worship leader. “When the pulpit became open, Jack seemed like the perfect fit. He exudes the love of Jesus. We are so happy to welcome him here as lead pastor of Bakerstown Alliance.”
