Face Off: Pittsburgh Celebrity Hockey Team Plans Benefit Game with JDRF All-Stars

Charity game pits all-star rosters against each other to raise funds for juvenile diabetes research.

The Pittsburgh Celebrity Hockey Team will face off Saturday with an all-star team assembled by the Western Pennsylvania chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation for a benefit game at Ice Connection of Pittsburgh.

The puck will drop at 4:30 p.m. at the rink at 118 Sylvan Spring Lane, Valencia. A shootout is planned for intermission, and organizers also plan raffles, prizes and entertainment for all ages at the event to raise funds for juvenile diabetes research.

Neither team has announced its game roster or planned starters.

The Pittsburgh Celebrity team's current roster includes: former Pittsburgh Penguins General Manager and Coach Craig Patrick; former Penguins coach and player Bryan Trottier; former players Phil Bourque and Francois Leroux; and Pittsburgh Steelers General Manager Kevin Colbert and former Steelers player and broadcaster Tunch Ilkin.

Also rostered as current players for the celebrity team are: KDKA-TV's Jory Rand and Ross Guidoitti; KDKA radio broadcaster and Steelers announcer Larry Richert; WDVE radio broadcaster Mike Prisuta and Pittsburgh Post-Gazette food editor Bob Batz Jr.
