Major New Office Building Planned For Oakland
A significant construction project will impact the neighborhood beginning early next year.
PITTSBURGH, PA - Construction is slated to begin next year on a major new office building in Oakland. The 10-story structure will be located at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Halket Street.
Walnut Capital Partners will go before the Pittsburgh Planning Commission seeking approval to construct the Innovation Research Tower, which will have 28,000 square feet of office space, 6,200 square feet of retail space, 100 spaces of vehicle parking and 125 spaces of bike parking.
The building will be built on the site of several vacant properties that Walnut owns. If the project is approved, demolition of those buildings would occur early next year. Construction of the tower would start in April with a target opening date of August 2022.
