Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, or MRSA, is one of an increasing number of bacterial infections that are resistant to antibiotics.

That growing resistance is a global public health threat that is likely to worsen, Reading Hospital's chief of the section of infectious diseases said Friday.
