'Carry Out a Good Book' with Family Reading Month
Pottstown Regional Public Library hosts event to encourage family reading.

April is Family Reading Month, but what exactly does that mean? Do you read as a family?
"Reading is not a solitary activity," said Leslie Stillings, of the Pottstown Regional Public Library (PRPL). "Story telling is meant to be shared, and the Pottstown Regional Public Library is celebrating this with Family Reading Month in April."
To do, the PRPL has started its “Carry Out a Good Book” campaign. Library users are invited to enjoy both pizza and books at the local library. According to Stillings, families can read for prizes to celebrate Family Reading Month.

Sign-up for this free event is open through April 13. For participating, families will be rewarded, according to Stillings.
"Children receive a bag of goodies when they sign up to read 20 minutes a day for 20 days of the month," she said. "They can read with a family member, friend or even a pet. If the goal is reached, you return on May 11 for a slice of pizza and other fun prizes.

Stillings said that the events are designed to encourage reading for all ages. By having children read with a family member, the habit will become more natural and enjoyable.
"The library is a place for families, friends, and free fun," said Stillings. "We invite you to join us."
