Colleges And Universities Announce Pottstown Grads

Local residents graduate from Rosemont College:

Amanda Holler of Pottstown, earned a bachelor of arts degree in studio art summa cum laude

Constance Mason of Pottstown, earned a bachelor of arts degree in biology and chemistry

Latin Honors were awarded to graduating seniors in the School of Professional Studies and the Undergraduate College who earned a minimum of 57 credits in residence at Rosemont with a minimum grade point average of 3.67.

Founded in 1921 by the Society of the Holy Child Jesus, Rosemont College is a private, coeducational Catholic institution. Area Resident Graduates From DeSales University:

Austin M. Benner of Pottstown, PA, graduated with a bachelor's of science in mathematics.

Michael Maxwell Potts of Pottstown, PA, graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's of arts in philosophy and TV/film.

During the ceremony, DeSales President Father Bernard O'Connor, OSFS, conferred degrees upon 420 graduates, including undergraduate and graduate students. Dr. Arthur L. Scott, president of Northampton Community College, delivered the commencement address and was awarded an honorary doctor of humane letters degree.

DeSales University, in Center Valley, Pa., is a private, coeducational, four-year liberal arts university affiliated with the Roman Catholic Church. Founded by the Oblates of Saint Francis de Sales in 1965, the 480-acre suburban campus is located 50 miles north of Philadelphia and about 90 miles south of New York City. A total enrollment of nearly 3,000 includes undergraduate day and evening students and graduate students. DeSales has approximately 100 full-time faculty members and offers more than 30 bachelor's degrees and seven graduate programs in a wide range of disciplines.
