Hanover Square Road Bridge 'Severely Deteriorated': Officials
An inspection found that the bridge was "severely deteriorated" and it was immediately shut down.

NEW HANOVER TOWNSHIP, PA — Hanover Square Road Bridge has been shut down in New Hanover Township after officials found that it was "severely deteriorated."
The bridge was inspected by PennDOT crews on Thursday afternoon. Officials found that the superstructure and bridge deck were in need of repairs.
Engineers will continue to evaluate the condition of the bridge, and determine if it can be fixed or needs to be fully replaced.

While the bridge remains closed, the detour will take motorists over Route 73, Route 663, and Swamp Pike, officials said.
Residents have local access up to the point of the closed bridge.
