Local Man, Army Pilot, Lands Blackhawk Helicopter In Montco
A Montgomery County native stopped by to visit family and friends on Wednesday in a Blackhawk helicopter.

LIMERICK, PA — A Limerick area native and Blackhawk pilot in the U.S. Army landed his helicopter in the township on Wednesday for a quick hello with his family.
6ABC reports that Chris Carvalho has been living in Hawaii while on duty for the past three years and had been assigned to transport two Blackhawk helicopters from New Jersey to Colorado.
Carvalho landed at Heritage Field Airport, had a quick lunch with family and friends, and then took back off again.

“It feels good to be home. I grew up learning to fly here back in 2000. I worked here fueling airplanes, trying to get my license so it’s nice to come back and show people how far I’ve come in my career,” Carvalho told the Times Herald. “It’s pretty exciting. I didn’t realize so many people would be here.”
Carvalho is a Pottstown High School graduate who has already completed two tours of duty in Iraq and one in Afghanistan.

He is scheduled for his next deployment this coming summer.
