MCCC West Campus to Hold 12th-Annual Lasagna Dinner Fundraiser
The popular community event of Montgomery County Community College's Pottstown campus, raises funds for student scholarships.

The Montgomery County Community College’s (MCCC) West Campus, located in Pottstown, will hold its 12th annual Lasagna Dinner fundraising event, Feb. 20 [see below for event details].
The Lasagna Dinner started in 2001 as part of the weeklong celebration in honor of the inauguration of Dr. Karen Stout, the college’s president. It has since become one of the longest-running and most popular student-led fundraising events of the college.
According to an MCCC, spokesperson, the lasagna dinner was initially conceived by then MCCC Student Government president, Ryan Sacks, who organized students from the clubs on the West Campus. Today, MCCC West Campus students still work together to make the event successful; raising over $12,000 since its inception.

“I think it’s really fitting that the students help out their fellow students,” Sneeringer said. “The students understand the concept of paying it back, and paying it forward.”
She said that the Lasagna Dinner is a way for the MCCC West Campus and Pottstown communities to help encourage student accomplishments by helping them gain scholarships. She added that last year, the Lasagna Dinner was able to raise $1,067 for the West Campus Scholarship.
“We are hoping to exceed that this year,” Sneeringer said.
According to an MCCC press release, “each year, the scholarship is awarded to a West Campus student who is engaged in community service and is in good academic standing.”
