Family Of 3 Killed In Pottstown House Fire

A mother, father, and their teen son are all dead after Monday's home fire in Pottstown, officials reported Tuesday.

POTTSTOWN, PA — All three members of a family whose home caught fire early Monday have died, Pottstown Fire Department's chief confirmed Tuesday.

Chief Frank Hand said two parents and their 14-year-old son died in the house fire, which happened in the area of E. 5th Street around 2:30 a.m.

Hand said the father died Monday at the hospital. The mother was in critical condition at Lehigh Hospital but also has died, Hand told Patch.

Hand said a team is investigating this week and he expects they will have determined the cause later in the week.

The firefighter who was injured was released from the hospital Monday, the fire chief said.
