Pottstown Double Shooting Motive Unknown
Two people early Sunday morning were shot in the borough.

Pottstown police are investigating a double shooting that happened at roughly 4 a.m. Sunday.
Borough residents Kimberly Smith, 47, and Andre Walker, 18, were shot in the 400 block of Buttonwood Alley, near the rear of 427 High Street, Pottstown Police Chief Mark Flanders stated in a news release.

"Police do not know what Smith (and) Walker were doing in the alley at the time of the shooting," the release states. "There is no known motive for the shooting ... The offender is described as a black male but unfortunately, there is no other suspect information available at this time."
Goodwill Ambulance Company treated Smith and Walker. Smith was transported to Reading Hospital Trauma Center where she underwent emergency surgery and is listed in stable condition.

Walker was taken to Paoli Hospital where he was treated and released. Â
