Pottstown HS Students Place First In Montco Intermediate Unit Regional Computer Fair

Earning first place qualifies the team to participate in the Pennsylvania State Computer Fair held at Dickinson College on May 22.

Six students from Pottstown High School demonstrated their skills in computer technology while participating in the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit Regional Computer Fair.

Placing first in the graphic design category were senior Alisha Moses, sophomore Andrea Moses, and junior Emily Overdorf. 

Earning first place honors qualifies the team to participate in the Pennsylvania State Computer Fair held at Dickinson College on May 22.

The web page design category saw a second place honor earned by juniors Josh Metzger and Matt Tessier, along with sophomore Giovanni Maldonaldo. 

In addition to competing, students took part in workshops which included digital photography and job interview skills. 

All the students competing were members of the Pottstown High School Advanced Computer Application and Desktop Publishing courses.

Mr. Dennis Arms, Pottstown High School business teacher, expressed the philosophy of the School Business Education Department is, “To offer our students a rigorous academic foundation that is needed for success in employment and post-secondary education.” 

These students have spent many hours preparing for this competition and represent the quality of achievement for which our students are capable.  Other schools competing in the competition included Methacton, Pottsgrove, Norristown, Lower Merion, Upper Dublin, Wissahickon, and Spring-Field.
