Pottstown Readers Name Local Businesses They Love

POTTSTOWN, PA — Pottstown appreciates businesses that show they care. Patch readers named a few they are glad to have in town.

The High Street Music Company at 135 E. High Street, was named in Patch's call-out. A reader said it brings top-notch musical instruction for all instruments, ages, and skill levels.

"The level of personal tailoring each teacher does for their students in one-on-one lessons is what makes The High Street Music Company so special, although the recording studio and cozy waiting room are two very sweet cherries on top." Information on High Street Music Company can be found here.

Also named was Albitz Garage at 2827 E. High Street. A Pottstown reader said it's a great business because of its "quality, friendly, reasonably priced service." Albitz has been servicing Pottstown's vehicles since 1929 and has remained open during the pandemic by eliminating use of its waiting area and social distancing.

Brookside Family Restaurant at 1338 N. Charlotte St. was named as an outstanding local eatery. It was named for being a "great local diner serving good meals at good prices, (with a) good salad bar." It's open Thursday-Sunday right now and serving only takeout until restrictions on indoor dining are lifted.

Another restaurant named was Los Aztecas Mexican restaurant at 223 Shoemaker Road in Pottstown. When indoor dining is permitted, Los Aztecas is BYOB, serving margarita mix pitchers for $9. It also offers online ordering for takeout.

A reader nominating Los Aztecas said it has "great tasting Mexican Food, reasonable prices."

Krav'n Comics also made the list of businesses that Pottstown loves. One reader said it's a "small family business with great service to a diverse clientele." At 349 Upland Square Dr., Krav'n Comics is a family-owned comic store.

A Pottstown consignment shop, Once Upon A Time, was named for its excellent customer service.

At 254 E. High St., the shop is presently selling only online; customers can shop and order from the Once Upon A Time website. "They have clothing and accessories to match any event," a reader told Patch.
