Pottstown Salvation Army to Hold Family Reading Night

The Salvation Army of Pottstown has a new outreach program for families.

The Salvation Army of Pottstown holds a Family Reading Night every fourth Friday of the month. The next event is scheduled for March 22, from 6 – 7 p.m., at the Salvation Army, located at 137 King St. in Pottstown.

The Family Reading night will consist of a dinner, craft project and story time. Each child also receives a book for it to take home.

According to Salvation Army of Pottstown spokesperson Elsie Flynn, this is a new endeavor for the organization.

“This is the first year that we are doing this,” Flynn said. “We’re trying to get the word out to the families.”

All families are invited to the event, and an adult must accompany children. Space is limited for this event.

The Family Readng Nights at the Salvation Army of Pottstown are scheduled from March to May.
