Pottstown Students Raise $650 For AHA

From Pottstown School District Director of Community Relations John J. Armato:

students, under the direction of physical education instructor Jane Thompson, put their hearts into raising funds to support American Heart Association research. 

Students from pre-kindergarten through fifth grade took part in the annual Jump-A-Thon for the AHA.

After securing sponsors, the students jumped rope during their physical education classes. 

Their efforts raised over $650 which will be used to help support heart research. 

Top fundraisers were: Aaliyah Gourzon, third grade and Elizabeth Biehl, pre-kindergarten.

The activity taught the students to improve their physical health and raise money to help people who suffer from various types of heart disease, Thompson said.
