Rain, Winds Batter Montgomery County
A severe thunderstorm is bringing bad weather to the area.

Heavy wind and rain began in Montgomery County early Thursday morning from a line of storms that has been crossing the country.
Several weather outlets said that there is a possibility of tornadoes along with high winds and rain during the day, and the area is under a severe thunderstorm watch until 11 a.m.
The storm is expected to continue during the day. According to NBC10, the rain will fade during the day but will redevelop later this afternoon.Â

Several events in the area have been postponed or rescheduled due to weather, including play at the US Open golf championship at Merion Country Club.Â
- Spring-Ford Area High School has postponed graduation until Friday at 7 p.m.
- Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School has postponed graduation until Friday at 5:30 p.m.
- Wissahickon High School has postponed graduation until Friday at 6 p.m.
