Learn about the obscure five-person group called the Legislative Reapportionment Commission(LRC), which has near complete control in drawing PA’s 50 state senate and 203 state house districts every ten years. Who sits on the LRC? What is their process and timeline? What were its results in the past, and how is it set up for 2021?
Draw the Lines will detail its plans for the year and Fair Districts PA will provide an update on the proposed Legislative and Congressional Redistricting Act (LACRA). LACRA mandates transparency and public input. You will leave the town hall with clear action steps you can take to support an aggressively transparent and people-driven state redistricting process.

Recent headlines stated “Redistricting will be the definitive political fight in Pennsylvania.” Lines drawn this year will shape Pennsylvania politics and policy for the next decade and beyond. Voters are eager to learn more about this. Fair Districts PA has held over 960 public meetings in the past five years, with more than 36,000 attendees. Hundreds have attended recent town halls on legislative rules, proposed judicial districts and proposed legislation. Over 900 attendees have already RSVPed for this virtual town hall.
Many Pennsylvania voters are tired of the gridlock and the partisan posturing, and looking for ways to be heard. The host organizations, all non-partisan groups, are helping voters understand why maps matter and mobilizing support to ensure fair maps for the decade ahead.
