Share a Meal with the Pottstown Salvation Army
The Salvation Army of Pottstown has been helping to serve hot meals for more than 30 years.

The Salvation Army of Pottstown, located at 137 King St. in Pottstown, hosts a free community meal every Wednesday, from 11:45 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
According to Salvation Army of Pottstown spokesperson Elsie Flynn, the community meal is provided in conjunction with the Pottstown Cluster of Religious Communities. According to the Pottstown Cluster of Religious Communities Patch Listing, the organization provides community members in need with financial support, food and clothing donations and volunteer time.
Flynn said members of this interfaith cooperation hosts such meals throughout the Pottstown-area community on certain days of the week for over 30 years.

The hot dishes are prepared on premises. Flynn said that meals are often provided from what is available, and may include lasagna, salad and vegetables.
And while all are welcomed to join in on a hot meal, Flynn said that they may also receiving something more sustaining.

“Some people come just for the fellowship,” Flynn said.
Volunteers help cook, serve and cleanup. Flynn said that often groups of volunteers come in each week to fulfill duties, however, she said the Salvation Army of Pottstown always welcomes individual volunteers.
“More hands make light work,” Flynn said.
