2 Die In Pottstown Early-Morning House Fire

An early morning fire in Pottstown Borough left 2 dead, one in critical condition, and a firefighter injured.

POTTSTOWN, PA — A fire in Pottstown left two dead and one person in critical condition early Monday, according to fire officials.

Pottstown Fire Department reported the home fire in the area of E. 5th Street started around 2:30 a.m. in Pottstown Borough.

A firefighter was also injured and is expected to fully recover, the Pottstown Fire Department said.

Pottstown Fire Department Chief Frank Hand said a team will be investigating this week and he expects they will have determined the cause later in the week.

Hand said the firefighter injured has been released from the hospital. The other injured person remained hospitalized Monday afternoon, the chief said.
