More Homes Selling But for Less in Radnor

The number of properties sold within Radnor Township in the first quarter of 2013 increased 35 percent of the same time period last year, according to a Prudential Fox and Roach HomeExpert Report.

58 homes were sold in the first three months of the year, compared with 43 last year. In 2011 that number was 53; in 2010, 27.

But the median price of properties that did sell in the first quarter dropped by 25 percent from $575,000 last year to $431,500 in 2013. In 2011 and 2010 the median price of sold properties was $585,000 and $560,000, respectively, according to the report.

The average days that a home was the market in the first quarter has stayed pretty steady at 102 down from 106 last year. In the prior years that number was 109 and 92 days.
