Arts Festival Deadline Extended

Interested artists have more time to sign up to participate in Manayunk's ever-popular annual tradition, which takes place in late June.

The ever-popular Manayunk Arts Festival, which is one of the largest and most comprehensive outdoor juried exhibits of its kind in the Delaware Valley, will enter its 22nd year the weekend of June 25 and 26, and organizers are hoping to have more works displayed than ever before.

With the goal of attracting additional interest, organizers have extended the application deadline until March 7.

Feb. 28 was initially the last day to apply to be a part of the annual event, which can draw thousands upon thousands of visitors, as well as an anticipated 250-plus participating artists from all over.

The event showcases works in various mediums, everything from paint and sculpture to photography and ironwork.

This year will also mark the 2nd annual EcoArts Festival, a component combining environmentally friendly artistic creations.

The overflowing event shuts down Main Street from Green Lane to Shurs Lane in the heart of the Manayunk business district.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to sample fare from some of Manayunk’s most popular eateries, since many local restaurants will open their doors during the two-day event.

The 22nd Annual Manayunk Arts Festival will take place June 25 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and June 26 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
