Brian Sims Running For Congress: Report
State representative planning to run for the seat currently held by Rep. Chaka Fattah

Sims said to be running for what is now Chaka Fattah’s seat, representing, among other areas, Manayunk and Roxborough.
Democratic State Rep. Brian Sims is planning to run for Congress in 2016, according to a report by PoliticsPA.com.
The site obtained a flier for a fundraiser next year, with a solicitation to make checks out to the “Brian Sims for Congress Exploratory Committee.”

Sims, a state representative elected in 2012 and the first openly gay representative elected to that body, would be running for the seat currently held by Rep. Chaka Fattah, who is currently under federal indictment. Lower Merion Township Commissioner Brian Gordon and Philly Ninth Ward Leader Dan Muroff have also indicated that they are running.
