Burglars Hit Roxborough Diner Early Monday Morning: Police

Two men broke into Mel's Diner on Umbria Street early Monday morning in Roxborough, Philadelphia Police said.

PHILADELPHIA — Police are asking for the public's help identifying two people who broke into a Roxborough diner early Monday morning.

At about 12:55 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 18, two men arrive in a Nissan Sentra got into Mel's Kitchen at 5001 Umbria St. by breaking the glass on the front door.

One man stayed outside, acting as a lookout while the other man went inside.

The man inside the diner checked the cash register and several other areas of the store and left without taking anything.

The offenders then fled in the same Nissan vehicle.

One man was described as being medium height and build who was wearing a dark colored jacket with gray hooded sweatshirt showing, gray sweatpants with a thin dark line down the legs, and dark sneakers.

The other man was described as tall and wearing a dark jacket, dark pants, gray sneakers, and had his face covered with a red bandanna.

Police said the Nissan they were in was possibly silver.
