Community Project: All are Welcome!

McMichael Park Labyrinth: Enjoy and Respect

The idea of a labyrinth in McMichael Park has been tossed around for some time. It certainly would appeal to everyone...all ages. Alexis Franklin approached the Friends of McMichael Park about creating one out of pumpkins as a "pop-up" project. Soon everyone jumped in and thought "what a cool idea." Further thought was to include all of the community groups and neighbors. To keep the costs down, the suggestion was made to "Bring Your Own Pumpkin" BYOP. Word spread quickly and in a matter of days there was a commitment of 70 pumpkins and extra volunteers. The labyrinth has generated some good team spirit with involvement from East Falls Tree Tenders, East Falls Community Council, Friends of Inn Yard Park, East Falls Village, East Falls Historical Society, Friends of Mifflin School, East Falls Forward, Jefferson University, and Friends of McMichael Park. Come join in on Sunday, October 14th at 1PM. BYOP! Other neighbors and community groups are more then welcome to join in.

What is a Labyrinth? A walking path where one enters and and searches for the center. Some find it spiritual and meditative. Others just enjoy the fun of it. McMichael Labyrinth will be available from October 14th till the 21st. Family Friendly. Squirrels not Welcome. Questions: lexy3904@gmail.com
