Cyclist Attacked In Wissahickon Park

Friends of the Wissahickon said a man jumped down from rocks above a bike path and assaulted a cyclist with a bat this weekend.

PHILADELPHIA — Police and park rangers in Philadelphia are looking for a man who attacked a cyclist in Wissahickon Valley Park recently.

According to Friends of the Wissahickon, the attack occurred Saturday morning on the paved bike path between Historic Rittenhouse Town and the parking lot at Forbidden Drive and Lincoln Drive.

A man jumped down from rocks above the patch and assaulted one of the cyclists with a bat, Friends of the Wissahickon said.

The man was only described as carrying bags when he attacked the cyclist. No other details on the man were made available.
