Congressman vows to contest charges and continue running for another term

Rep. Chaka Fattah (D-Pa.), who was indicted last month on 29 counts of racketeering, conspiracy, mail fraud and other charges, appeared in court Tuesday afternoon and plead not guilty to the charges.
According to NBC10, the Congressman appeared at the federal courthouse in Philadelphia and vowed to both fight the charges and continue to run for another term.
In a letter Monday, Fattah had questioned veracity of the charges, noting several instances in which lawmakers have been accused of wrongdoing but later cleared.
