Laptop, USB Drives Stolen From Philly Election Warehouse
Officials are investigating the theft ironically on the heels of President Donald Trump saying "bad things happen in Philadelphia."
PHILADELPHIA — A bad thing happened in Philadelphia regarding the upcoming general election, as electronic devices were recently stolen from an election warehouse in the city.
According to multiple reports, a laptop and USB drives were stolen from an election warehouse in the East Falls section of the city Tuesday night.
Officials said the laptop's security features prevent others from accessing it and that it did not contain any election materials.

NBC10 reports the devices belonged to an employee of Election Systems and Software.
The company said in a statement to the outlet that the USB drives' encryption is so strong that "it would take the world's fastest supercomputer millions of years to crack."

After Election Systems and Software learned of the theft, the company changed the user's account as well as the passwords, Action News reports.
Anyone who has information on the theft is asked to call Philadelphia Police at 215-686-8477.
The theft comes on the heels of President Donald Trump saying "bad things happen in Philadelphia" when discussion the election during Tuesday night's presidential debate.
