Stroll the Street is returning for its sixth year on Thursday nights this summer.

"We were thrilled by the support from our merchants, sponsors, and visitors for last year’s pop-up edition of Stroll the Street," said Gwen McCauley, Executive Director of the Manayunk Development Corporation (MDC). "We’re really looking forward to hosting a safe way for families and friends to get together again this summer."
In order to maintain social distancing this summer, Main Street will host pop-up sidewalk vendors in various locations from Shurs to Green Lane. Such vendors include The Herbal Zen, Emily Taylor Rogers Visual Artist & Designer, Simply Hecgardo, and Aunt Dee’s Pound Cake LLC.

In addition, Manayunk will go back to its artists roots with live art demonstrations, installations, and ribbon cuttings throughout the summer, including a yarn bombing, a ribbon cutting celebrating the revitalization and 10th anniversary of Mat Tomezsko’s “Look Long and Look Good" portrait series on June 24, and the return of the rainbow umbrella installation at Main and Gay Streets.
Canal View Park will also host a weekly lineup of live music to entertain those strolling, such as Clay Jackson, Rad & Kell, and Stella Ruze.
Many of Manayunk’s small businesses will host sidewalk sales each week as well. Philadelphia Runner will offer 15 percent of their sidewalk sale table, Sulimay’s Studio on Main is giving 20 percent off of professional products, and Pet Friendly Dog Bakery will feature a new treat each week.
This year’s Stroll the Street sponsors, Malibu Rum and Absolut Watermelon, will be in select restaurants and bars all summer long. SOMO Manayunk will feature both with "The Minty Melon" and "Watermelon Punch" on their Thursday night menu to quench the thirst of event goers.
In honor of the summer holidays, Stroll the Street will not be held May 27, July 1 and Sept. 2.
