Philadelphia Man Sentenced in Connection With 5 Bank Robberies

Nathaniel Stroud previously admitted to five bank robberies, in which he told bank tellers he had a gun, in South Jersey and Philadelphia.

A Philadelphia man has been sentenced to five years in prison after admitting to robbing five banks in New Jersey and Pennsylvania over four months, U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman announced on Friday.

Nathaniel Stroud, 34, previously pleaded guilty to an information charging him with two counts of bank robbery in connection with robbing two South Jersey banks between November of 2013 and January of 2014.

The first bank was a Roma Bank in Delran on Nov. 8, 2013. The second was a First Constitution Bank in Hightstown on Jan. 9, 2014.

He also admitted to robbing a PNC Bank and a TD Bank in Philadelphia, and a TD Bank in Willingboro, New Jersey.

He is also subject to three years supervised release and must pay $21,640 in restitution.

Between September 2013 and January 2014, Stroud robbed the five banks by presenting a demand note to the bank tellers, demanding money and implying he had a gun.

In the robberies in Delran and Willingboro, there was never any indication he actually had a gun.

Stroud made off with $6,000 in the robbery of First Constitution Bank in Hightstown.
