Philly Region Named Second Best Area To Bike In America
When it comes to bicycling, the Philadelphia area is one of the best places to be in the nation, according to a new study.
A new study has given the Philadelphia area a silver medal: it's been named the second best place to bike in the United States.
The study, put together by consumer research group ValuePenguin, ranks the Philadelphia-Camden-Wilimington area behind only Minneapolis-St. Paul-Bloomington in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
In total, 200 cities were analyzed across three separate categories: roads and trails, riders and bicycles, and safety and weather.

Within those categories were 16 distinct data points. Information was sourced from the Census Bureau, The Trust for Public Land, the Department of Transportation, and other national nonprofits and governing agencies.
Philadelphia was also ranked as having the 5th best park access for bicyclists in the entire nation.
