World's Largest Wawa Opening Dec 14 In Old City Philadelphia
The newest, biggest Wawa ever (11,500 square feet) is set to open Friday, Dec. 14 and will feature giveaways, hoagie making, and a parade.

PHILADELPHIA – The newest — and largest — Wawa ever is set to open in the heart of Philadelphia's historic Old City on Dec. 14 and the public is invited to attend a grand opening event.
At 8 a.m., Wawa's biggest store – standing at 11,500 square feet – will open at 6th and Chestnut streets. Grand opening events will begin at 8:45 a.m. outside the store, which is located at 150 S. Independence Mall Way.
The grand opening festivities will feature a procession on Chestnut to 6th Street. The procession will end in the store with a "Declaration" to kick off the ceremony and a performance of the National Anthem by Historic Philadelphia’s Fife and Drum corps.

Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney will be a the grand opening, alongside Independence Park Superintendent Cynthia MacLeod and Wawa’s mascot, Wally Goose.
The first 200 customers through the door at 8 a.m. on Friday will get special giveaways.

The new one-of-a-kind store will feature elements completely unique to this location, including a "Philly Firsts" murals featured inside the new store and special mural coffee cups.
You can also get free samples of the limited-edition Molten Lava "Liberty Latte" which is exclusive to this Wawa location, made with hot chocolate and hot latte topped with whipped cream, chocolate sauce and topped with Red, White & Blue.
The day will also feature the first "Hoagies for Heroes" hoagie building competition in Wawa’s history, featuring local fire and police with donations given to charities selected by the participants.
On Saturday, Dec. 15, the National Constitution Center will visit store to present "Hamilton - The Early Years" at 11 a.m. Then, Historic Philadelphia will hold a storytelling session at noon Saturday, and again at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 16. From 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. that day, Mural Arts Philadelphia will create festive sidewalk Chalk Art outside the new store.
