Nonprofit Plans Privacy Fence at Mary Roberts Rinehart Nature Trail
Two local groups say a noise barrier is needed between the park and Ohio River Boulevard.

The Osborne Train & Park Association plans to build a fence along the border between Route 65 and the Mary Roberts Rinehart Natural Park and Trail.Â
The fence will combat noise from Ohio River Boulevard and offer additional privacy to trail-goers, according to an announcement from the association.Â
Partial funding for the fence has been provided by the Sewickley Valley Community Fund, which has awarded a $3,000 grant to the association.

The fence will span 200-feet from Glen Osborne Elementary towards Sewickley, along the park's border.
The Osborne Train & Park Association, a nonprofit, must match funding for the grant, said Sewickley Valley Community Fund President William Logsdon.Â

The association is now soliciting donations to meet the grant.
"The fence will be important for two reasons," Logsdon said. "Route 65 is a highly traveled area; it's very noisy. And this will serve as a noise barrier. It will also serve as an obstacle so people don't walk from Route 65 onto the nature trail."Â
Glen Osborne Mayor William Boswell said a spring construction is planned for the structure.Â
