Allentown Man Arrested After Fleeing State Trooper in South Whitehall
A man was arrested after refusing to stop for police, fleeing and attempting to elude them on foot.

A man was arrested Sunday after refusing to yield to emergency workers and for continuing to drive after police told him to stop in South Whitehall Township, according to police.
After refusing to stop, the man, identified as Assad H. Meyers, 32, of Allentown, crashed into a vehicle as he exited the highway and then attempted to escape police on foot, The Morning Call reports. He was arrested around Woodlawn and Marshall streets, according to police.
Meyers was arraigned and sent to Lehigh County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail. He has been charged with fleeing or attempting to elude, accidents involving damage to attended vehicle or property, according to The Morning Call.

Meyers also faces a multitude of other charges and violations, including driving on a suspended license, obedience to authorized persons directing traffic, failure to stop at a red light, disregarding traffic lanes, duty of a driver in an emergency response area, turning signal violation, driving at unsafe speeds, abandoning a vehicle on a highway, careless driving, reckless driving and failure to stop and give information or render aid, The Morning Call reports.
