Athletic Apparel Store Moving to Tilghman Square

Flex & Fit recently signed a lease to rent a 1,000-square-foot space at Tilghman Square shopping center.

A new running and athletic apparel store will be moving into Tilghman Square shopping center.

Flex & Fit recently signed a lease to rent a 1,000-square-foot space at the shopping center at 4680 Broadway, according to Larken Associates, a residential and commercial real estate developer based in Hillsborough, N.J.

"Opening a running store has been a dream of mine for many years," Amanda Churbaji, owner of Flex & Fit, said in a news release.

With the renewal of Amelia's Grocery Outlet's lease, Tilghman Square's retail stores are now fully leased, Larken said. Bagel Du Jour Bistro opened in April.

"We could not ask for a better location," said Marc Drasin, vice president of real estate for Amelia's.

"Tilghman Square always has a steady flow of avid shoppers so it was a no-brainer to renew our lease," he said.

The section of South Whitehall Township near Broadway and Cetronia Road is undergoing new development. St. Luke's University Health Network recently opened the West End Medical Center in the former Builder's Square and Univest Bank has started construction across the street.

A 450-unit luxury townhouse/retail development has been proposed near Cetronia and Schantz roads on the Bortz farm and the owners of P.J. Whelihan's Pub at 4595 Broadway have proposed razing their restaurant and building a new $4 million, 250-seat restaurant in its place.

Victor Kelly, executive vice president of Larken Associates' Commercial Division said Tilghman Square's location offers businesses visibility and access.

The 36-acre shopping center is near major highways in Lehigh County, including routes 22 and 309, and interstates 78 and 476.
