Banko Beverage Moving to South Whitehall

Fifth largest beer wholesaler in the country had outgrown its east Allentown home; will move to Crackersport Road in March.

Banko Beverage Co., the fifth largest beer wholesaler in the country, plans to move from its current east Allentown headquarters to a larger building it is renovating in South Whitehall Township, according to published reports.

The new Banko headquarters will be located at 5001 Crackersport Road, currently a 105,000 square foot building on 30 acres, according to Lehigh Valley Business (lvb.com). Banko plans to add a 20,000-square-foot cooler in renovating the building, the Website reported.

The total investment in real estate and renovations is expected to cost the company about $7 million, according to the Website. Banko plans to close the current home at 2124 Hanover Ave. and move to Crackersport Road in March.

The company believed it had simply outgrown its current home, according to The Morning Call. With a bigger building, Banko is hoping to expand what it sells—particularly by adding more craft beers, the newspaper reported.

Banko currently sells 15 million cases of beer a year, according to the company Website.
