Blue Barn Meadows, Walbert Avenue Zoning Requests Wednesday in South Whitehall

Here's what's happening Wednesday in South Whitehall Township:

• Two public hearings will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the South Whitehall Township Board of Commissioners meeting at the township administration building, 4444 Walbert Ave. The board will hear: 1) a request to change the zoning of one acre on a three-acre lot at 2449 Walbert Ave. from medium-density residential to neighborhood commercial. 2) a request by Posocco Equities to change the zoning on several lots at 1569 Blue Barn Road  and 1577 Blue Barn Road from R-4 medium-density residential to R-5 medium-density residential and high-density residential. Posocco plans to build Blue Barn Meadows, a 200-unit townhouse development in the 1500 block of Blue Barn Road.

• U.S. Rep. Charlie Dent (R-Pa) will hold a legislative update meeting for the public from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Jewish Community Center, 702 N. 22nd St., Allentown.

• The Parkland Community Library will host its Book Quest discussion group at 7 p.m. 

• The National Weather Service forecasts sunny skies with a high near 89 degrees.
