
In Monday's wilting heat, Rene Rawhouser, a retired Bethlehem elementary school teacher, watered the vegetable plot he rents at the Cedarbrook Community Gardens.
Rawhouser, who lives in Salisbury Township, said he always wanted to garden but didn't have the time to devote until he retired.
Rawhouser has a bumper crop of zucchini this year because he accidentally planted nine extra plants instead of acorn squash.
