Community Gardens Are Ripe For Picking
Cedarbrook Community Gardens in South Whitehall are thriving in the summer heat.

Doug Treichler, 70, of South Whitehall, has been tending his community garden for 17 years, the past two at its new location off Cedarbrook Road.
The 114 garden plots at Cedarbrook Community Gardens are all rented.
Treichler, a retired foundry worker, recently won an award for his well-tended garden.
He grows tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, scallions, string beans, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli and carrots.
