Hearings on Zoning Changes This Week in South Whitehall

Here's what's happening this week in South Whitehall.

Here's what's happening this week in and around South Whitehall Township.

  • Parkland School District will hold Locker Nights for Orefield Middle School students and Springhouse Middle School students on Tuesday from 5:15 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. This will give the middle school students an opportunity to get oriented for the coming school year.
  • Two public hearings will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the South Whitehall Township Board of Commissioners meeting at the township administration building, 4444 Walbert Ave. The board will hear: 1) a request to change the zoning of one acre on a three-acre lot at 2449 Walbert Ave. from medium-density residential to neighborhood commercial. 2) a request by Posocco Equities to change the zoning on several lots at 1569 Blue Barn Road  and 1577 Blue Barn Road from R-4 medium-density residential to R-5 medium-density residential and high-density residential. Posocco plans to build Blue Barn Meadows, a 200-unit townhouse development in the 1500 block of Blue Barn Road.
  • The Parkland High School golf team hosts Allen and Freedom in a Tuesday match starting at 11:30 a.m.
  • The Parkland High School girls tennis team begins its regular season with a home match versus Freedom at 3:30 p.m.
  • The Parkland Community Library will host its Book Quest discussion group (on a biography of your choice) at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the library, 4422 Walbert Ave. 
  • The Parkland School Board will hold a workshop meeting at 7 p.m. and a regular meeting at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the administration building, 1210 Springhouse Road.
