Here's a look at the week ahead in South Whitehall.

Monday, Aug. 5
Parkland Community Library will accept book donations through Thursday for its annual used book sale at the Asbury Methodist Church, 1533 Springhouse Road., from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.  The book sale will be Friday and Saturday.

Tuesday, Aug. 6

Third annual National Night Out at Covered Bridge Park. 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Help strengthen the community of South Whitehall by joining your neighbors, police and emergency workers for this fun, family event.

Wednesday, Aug. 7

The South Whitehall Township Board of Commissioners meet at 7:30 p.m. at the township administration building, 4444 Walbert Ave. Jaindl Land Co. will make a presentation on possible plans for Shoemaker's Auto Dealership, 4131 Walbert Ave., in conjunction with the proposed development of the Hills at Winchester (Rutz Farm).

Agricultural Marketing 4-H Club meetings at the Lehigh County Cooperative Extension, 4187 Dorney Park Road. 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Friday, Aug. 9
