'Sneak Peeks' Slated at Parkland Schools

Are your children ready for the coming school year? Are they a little nervous about their new school, new teacher and new classroom?

Are you, as a parent, a little edgy about it too?

Not to worry. The Parkland School District has scheduled "sneak peek" hours, so that students and parents can get the lay of the land and become comfortable before school begins.

The first day of school in the Parkland School District is Tuesday, Sept. 3.

Here is the elementary school schedule:

Cetronia Elementary School: Wednesday, Aug. 28, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Jaindl Elementary School: Wednesday, Aug. 28, 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Parkway Manor Elementary School: Wednesday, Aug. 28, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Schnecksville Elementary School: Wednesday, Aug .28, 5 p.m to 7 p.m.
Ironton Elementary School: Wednesday, Aug. 28, 1:30 p.m. (new students) and Friday, Aug. 30, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. (returning students)
Kernsville Elementary School: Wednesday, Aug. 28, 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Kratzer Elementary School: Thursday, Aug. 29, 10:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Fogelsville Elementary School:  Thursday, Aug 29, 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. (new students) and 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. (returning students)

Here is the middle school schedule:

Springfield and Orefield Middle Schools: Locker Night/Self-guided tours, Tuesday, Aug 20, 5:15 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.
Middle School New Student Orientation: Thursday, Aug. 29. Bus picks up students at regular time noted on bus cards. Students depart home at 10:45 a.m.

Parkland High School 9th Grade/New Student Orientation:Wednesday, Aug. 28. Bus picks students up at regular time noted on bus cards. Students depart home at 11 a.m.

For students attending St. Joseph the Worker School in Orefield, the first day of school is Monday, Aug. 26.
