Whitehall High School running back Saquon Barkley officially signed with Penn State University earlier today, Feb. 4. Barkley is ranked the sixth best high school football player in the state of Pennsylvania and No. 291 in the 2015 ESPN 300, according to ESPN.com. He committed to Penn State on Feb. 19, 2014, but could not sign until after the football season ended in his senior year.
Barkley received offers from numerous universities around the country, including Missouri, Notre Dame and the defending National Champion Ohio State University, according to ESPN.com. He turned them all down and chose to remain in Pennsylvania.
