22 Delaware County Roads To Be Restricted For Bridge Cleaning

Travel restrictions will affect more than 20 Delaware County roads nightly from June 1 through June 12 for bridge cleaning work, PennDOT said.

From Friday, June 1 through Tuesday, June 12, travel restrictions will be in place from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning on 22 highways in the county.

Affected roads are:

• Interstate 476 North in Swarthmore Borough and Ridley and Nether Providence townships,I-476 in Media Borough;
• On the ramp from MacDade Boulevard to I-476 in Ridley Township;
• On the ramp from MacDade Boulevard to Interstate 95 in Ridley Township;
• U.S. 322 in the City of Chester;
• U.S. 13 in Yeadon Borough;
• Route 291 (Governor Printz Boulevard) in Tinicum Township;
• Route 320 (Chester Road) in Swarthmore Borough;
• Route 352 (Edgmont Avenue) in the City of Chester;
• Route 352 (New Middletown Road) in Media Borough;
• Bullens Lane in Ridley Township;
• Springfield Road in Springfield Township;
• Baltimore Pike in Springfield Township;
• Sharon Avenue in Sharon Hill Borough;
• Clifton Avenue in Sharon Hill Borough;
• Beatty Road in Media Borough and Springfield Township;
• Garrett Road in Upper Darby Township;
• Marshall Road in Upper Darby Township;
• Stewart Avenue in Ridley Park Borough;
• Plush Mill Road in Nether Providence Township;
• Brookhaven Road in Nether Providence Township;
• Lenni Road in Aston Township;
• and Sweetwater Road in Concord Township.

Crews will restrict travel lanes on these state highways to pressure wash and clean bridges.

Motorists are advised to be alert of this moving operation and to expect intermittent lane closures and possible slowdowns when driving near work crews.
