Alleged Baltimore Rapist, US Marshal Impersonator Arrested While Hiding In Delaware County: Report

A man wanted in Baltimore for rape and impersonating a U.S. Marshal has been arrested in Delaware County.

A man wanted in Baltimore for rape and impersonating a U.S. Marshal has been arrested in Delaware County, according to 6ABC.

Video submitted to the station from a viewer shows the real U.S. Marshals capturing 32-year-old Edwin Gerard Johnson, a resident of Baltimore, in Colwyn Wednesday afternoon. During the arrest, a marshal was struck by a law enforcement vehicle and can be seen limping away. He is expected to recover.

According to authorities, Johnson would lure victims by impersonating a U.S. Marshal, gaining their trust, before brandishing a weapon and demanding sexual favors. If the victim refused, he would allegedly use physical force.

He allegedly struck again on Saturday, raping a women at gunpoint in Baltimore, again after impersonating a U.S. Marshal.

According to the report, Johnson was apprehended while trying to run from a home in which he had been hiding on the 100 block of Main Street in Colwyn.
