Springfield Native Tom Savage On Thin Ice With NFL's Texans
Tom Savage, starting quarterback of the Houston Texans and alum of Cardinal O'Hara, might get his last chance to prove himself this Sunday.

SPRINGFIELD, PA -- A local NFL player has struggled to lead his team to victory, and his coaches are getting impatient. Houston Texans quarterback Tom Savage, who reclaimed the starting job from Deshaun Watson after the rookie suffered a season-ending injury, has been winless in his three starts this season.
Savage has only five career starts, and he has sustained a season-ending injury himself three times, but that doesn't mean much to head coach Bill O'Brien. The former Penn State head coach will roll with Savage again this week at home against the Cardinals, but he called out the former Cardinal O'Hara star and Springfield native this week.
“The quarterback’s judged on two things: how many times he gets his team in the end zone and wins,” O’Brien said.
