"The medical and household bills are going to keep coming in," fiancé Angel Gregg said on a GoFundMe Page for Durham. "Hope for Louie is to raise enough money to relieve at least one of those burdens. To be honest we haven't even looked at one medical bill yet. Just trying to focus on getting to ring that chemo bell and pray to put this in our past."

So far, the community has generated nearly $9,000 to help Durham in two days' time.

"Anyone that knows Louie can honestly say he is a great guy," Gregg wrote. "He has one of the biggest hearts and always does for others. We have a big family and Louie stepped up with all my children. We also have a baby boy Xavier together, who is 3 and daycare is a very big expense. "
