Daytime, Overnight Restrictions On Route 320​ In Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, PA — A portion of Route 320 in Springfield will have lane restrictions next week during the daytime ad overnight, PennDOT said.

Lane restrictions are scheduled on Route 320 (Chester Road) between Baltimore Pike and Route 252 (Providence Road) in Springfield Township and Swarthmore Borough for milling and utility adjustments.

Restrictions will be in place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, Tuesday, May 21, through Thursday.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because slowdowns will occur.

The contractor's schedule is dependent on the weather.

This work is part of a project to repair and resurface 28 miles of state highway in Delaware County.

Under this improvement project, PennDOT is milling the existing roadway surface and repaving the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal the roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.

Additional state highways scheduled for resurfacing under this contract include:

• U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue) between the Chester County line and the Montgomery County line in Haverford and Radnor townships;
• Route 291 (Price Street) between U.S. 13 (Post Road) and Booth Street in Trainer Borough and the City of Chester;
• Route 320 (Chester Road/Providence Avenue) between Route 291 (4th Street) and Baltimore Pike in Springfield Township, Swarthmore Borough, and the City of Chester;
• Route 320 (Sproul Road) between U.S. 1 and Route 3 (West Chester Pike) in Marple and Springfield townships;
• Route 352 (Middletown Road/New Middletown Road) from just north of Van Leer Avenue to just south of U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) in Middletown Township;
• Darby Road between Route 3 (West Chester Pike) and Route 320 (Sproul Road) in Haverford and Darby townships and Lansdowne Borough; and
• East Darby Road between Darby Road and Eagle Road in Haverford Township.
