More Details On Crash That Killed Delco College Student, 2 Others

A Delaware County man who was the driver in a crash that killed him and two passengers was drunk and speeding, authorities say.

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Authorities in Lehigh County said a Delaware County man who was the driver in a crash that killed him and two passengers, as well as hurt another Delaware County man, was drunk and speeding.

According to Pennlive.com, Nicholas White, 23, of Chadds Ford, was speeding and had a blood alcohol content of 0.14 percent when he crashed on March 6 in Upper Saucon Township, Lehigh County.

Brandon DiChiacchio, 22, of Springfield, was listed in critical condition following the crash, The Morning Call reported. DiChiacchio, who was rescued from the wreckage following the crash, is expected to be discharged from a hospital Wednesday.

The crash also killed Sean Hanczaryk, 21, and Emily Kattner, 24, according to DeSalle University.

White and Kattner were recent graduates of the school. DiChiacchio and Hanczaryk were seniors at the school, the university said in an announcement.

"On behalf of the entire DeSales University community, I share our deepest condolences and prayers for the family and friends of the lives we lost," said University President Father James Greenfield, O.S.F.S. "We also pray for a full recovery for our student who remains hospitalized in critical condition."

White was a baseball player for the university, and DiChiacchio and Hanczaryk were players at the time of the crash, the university said.
