Delco Nursery School Parent Being Tested For Coronavirus
Swarthmore College said Friday that the parent of a child at the college's Nursery School was tested for the new coronavirus.
SWARTHMORE, PA — A parent of a child at Swarthmore College's Nursery School was tested for the new coronavirus, known as COVID-19, according to the college.
The college said Friday Swarthmore Friends Nursery School, which is housed at the Swarthmore Friends Meetinghouse on the Swarthmore College Campus, has closed due to the potential case.
According to the school's director, the parent was exhibiting flu-like symptoms.

The parent and their family have self-quarantined while awaiting test results, which are expected to come in by Tuesday.

Swarthmore did not say if the parent lives in Delaware County, where one presumed case is.
"Based on conversations, we believe the risk to the College community remains low," the college said Friday.
The college said all staff should avoid the Nursery School building out of an abundance of caution.
"We are in contact with leadership of the Nursery School and the Pennsylvania Department of Health to obtain as much information as possible," the college said.
